Two short but great videos of the fire truck running (copy and paste links to an Internet browser to download and view):
Very high-level complete restoration of an ionic American vehicle. This engine is in just-restored condition with no known flaws. The current owner, an eclectic collector, bought this vehicle at an auction in 2019 where one of America's mega-collectors was selling dozens from his collection. This 1936 American LaFrance Fire Truck is fully restored to a very high standard; it's powered by the original inline 8-cylinder coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission. The truck is finished in fire engine red with gold leaf detail, polished wheels, siren, red lights, fire bell, equipped with period correct hoses, ladders and miscellaneous fire equipment.
With roots dating to 1832, the American LaFrance Fire Engine Company was one of the oldest fire apparatus manufacturers in the United States. LaFrance Fire Engine Company was formed in 1903. American LaFrance delivered its first motorized fire engine in 1907.
This is a perfect EVENT Vehicle: weddings, anniversaries, birthdays parades, car enthusiast associations, automobile dealers, retail businesses, charitable organizations, municipalities, wholesale liquor conventions..…you name it.
We offer this beauty at $68,000. The fire engine is stored in the Coyote Valley just south of San Jose and just north of Monterey. If not sold it will be auctioned at Monterey Car Week mid-August (with huge buyer fees).
